From 17-19 June 2026, representatives of the Doctoral School of Cracow University of Technology (SD PK) took part in the annual meeting of the EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), held at the University of Galway, Ireland. The University’s delegation comprised the Doctoral School leadership team (Małgorzata Cimochowicz-Rybicka, doctor habilitatus, prof. of CUT, Agnieszka Leśniak, doctor habilitatus, prof. of CUT) and two representatives of doctoral disciplines (Bożena Tyliszczak, doctor habilitatus, prof. of CUT, Maciej Motak, profesor). The event is one of Europe’s leading forums dedicated to doctoral education and the development of doctoral training.
This year’s conference was organized under the theme “Doctoral research and talent for the advancement of society.” Participants discussed, among other topics, collaboration between universities and societal stakeholders, strengthening the societal impact of doctoral research, and preparing doctoral candidates for careers both within and beyond academia.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for the exchange of experiences and good practices among representatives of European doctoral schools, university leaders, and experts in doctoral education. Particular attention was given to interdisciplinary research, engagement with societal and economic partners, and the development of skills needed to address contemporary social and economic challenges.
Participation in the event enabled the Cracow University of Technology delegation to strengthen international networking, gain insights into the latest trends in doctoral education, and showcase the activities and achievements of the Doctoral School of CUT within the European academic community.
