On 1 October 2026, the ceremonial opening of the 2026/2027 academic year took place at the Doctoral School of the PK Kraków University of Technology. The event brought together doctoral students both starting and continuing their studies, as well as representatives of the university’s governing bodies and academic staff. The ceremony was opened and chaired by the Director of the PK Krakow University of Technology Doctoral School, Dr hab. Małgorzata Cimochowicz-Rybicka, assoc. prof., who welcomed the assembled guests and doctoral students, wishing them every success in their academic, research and personal endeavours in the new academic year. The Vice-Rector for Research, Dr hab. Magdalena Niemczewska-Wójcik, assoc. prof., also attended the inauguration, highlighting the desirable qualities in young researchers: patience and perseverance. She wished the doctoral students every success and consistency in their work.
A regular feature of the programme was the inaugural lecture, which on this occasion was delivered by Dr hab. Artur Cebula, Eng., assoc. prof. The address provided an inspiring start to the new academic year. The inauguration served as an opportunity to bring the doctoral community together and to highlight the importance of the research carried out by doctoral students at the PK Krakow University of Technology’s Doctoral School. We wish all doctoral students perseverance in achieving their ambitious goals, many research successes and satisfaction from the academic challenges they undertake.
