Cooperation and partnerships

Stars EU

The Doctoral School of the Cracow University of Technology is dynamically developing through its participation in the STARS EU project, a strategic alliance of nine European universities collaborating in research, education, and sustainable development.

Within the project, doctoral candidates take part in international educational modules, including a unique five‑day stay in Sweden, where they explore global doctoral education models, present their research, and meet scientists from across Europe.

They also benefit from a three‑week online module focused on professional skills development, career planning, and gaining insights directly from industry leaders. A key component is the promotion of Open Science, implemented through thematic groups and work packages responsible for communication, branding, and public engagement. The Doctoral School of CUT actively participates in STARS EU workshops, including training on developing Joint Programmes and designing Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), which help shape innovative international educational pathways.

„Strategic Career Planning in Doctoral Education within the Framework of Work-Integrated Learning – Intensive Blended Programme (BIP)” – our doctoral students took part in this course. The course took place in Trollhättan, Sweden, in May 2025.  The course provided doctoral students with the necessary skills for career planning and adapting to the changing labour market. This year, PhD students will also take part in the course.

EUA-CDE

The EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE) was launched in 2008 at the initiative of the European University Association, responding to a growing interest in doctoral education and research training in Europe.

An integral part of the European University Association, it is now the largest European network in this field, covering more than 260 universities and institutions working on issues related to doctoral education and research training in 36 countries. The Doctoral School of CUT has been a member of this association since April 2025. The management of the Doctoral School of CUT and other members of the Doctoral School Council attended the EUA-CDE conferences in Lausanne in 2025 and in Liège in 2026.

Krakow Doctoral Schools Forum

The Krakow Doctoral Schools Forum, of which our PK Doctoral School is a member, was granted affiliate status by the KRSWK (College of Rectors of Krakow’s Higher Education Institutions) in September 2025. The initiative to establish the FSDK was welcomed with full approval and a pledge of the College’s full support. The Krakow Doctoral Schools plan to strengthen their cooperation; to meet more frequently and to collaborate with Krakow City Council.

National Association of Doctoral Schools

Since October 2023, the Doctoral School of Cracow University of Technology has been a member of the National Conference of Doctoral Schools (National Association of Doctoral Schools). The membership involves active participation in the initiatives undertaken by the association, collaboration to support the development of the doctoral community, and representing the interests of doctoral schools at the national level.
