{"id":26619,"date":"2025-06-09T10:48:39","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T08:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/szkoladoktorska.pk.edu.pl\/?p=26619"},"modified":"2025-06-18T13:24:54","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T11:24:54","slug":"phd-students-from-the-doctoral-school-of-cut-in-sweden-an-inspiring-exchange-of-experiences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/szkoladoktorska.pk.edu.pl\/en\/news\/phd-students-from-the-doctoral-school-of-cut-in-sweden-an-inspiring-exchange-of-experiences\/","title":{"rendered":"PhD students from the Doctoral School of CUT in Sweden: an inspiring exchange of experiences"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Five doctoral students from the Doctoral School of Cracow University of Technology took part in an intensive international course entitled Strategic Career Planning in PhD Education via Work-Integrated Learning (5 ECTS), organised as part of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) at University West in Trollh\u00e4ttan, Sweden. The course took place in May 2025 and was part of the STARS EU project \u2013 a European university alliance to which Cracow University of Technology also belongs. The participants included PhD students from several partner universities, creating a unique opportunity for exchange, dialogue, and collaboration. During the classes, based on the Work-Integrated Learning approach, participants explored topics such as career planning in and outside academia, competence development, professional identity, and practical use of a doctoral degree in various sectors. The course strongly emphasized teamwork, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving, which were greatly appreciated by the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u2013 \u201cThe course made me realize I\u2019m capable of much more than I thought. This enhanced their self-awareness and demonstrated that doctoral education can be a space for dialogue, collaboration, and personal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An invaluable aspect of the program was the interaction with fellow PhD students from different countries, disciplines, and academic systems. The openness and curiosity shared among the participants laid the foundation for future cooperation, both academic and educational.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the focus was on professional development, the participants also had the chance to experience Swedish academic culture and local traditions, such as the well-known \u201cfika\u201d coffee
